Aluminium and Timber Retrofit Double Glazing

Retrofit

Why retrofit?

Well it's pretty obvious that it makes your house warmer in winter so no surprises there, however it also:

  • Keeps your house cooler in summer

  • Reduces condensation

  • Reduces noise

  • Increases your house value

So what is the cost to retrofit double glaze a house?

There are many factors and variables from one house to another such as timber frame, aluminium joinery, colonials etc.

The best thing to do is to let us come and measure your home and give you an obligation free precise quote, that way you know exactly what your investment will be.

Hunter Glass offers 10 year Manufacturers warranty and Lifetime guarantee on workmanship

How does it work and what does it look like?

Although it requires skill, precision and time, Timber Retrofit is straight forward.  The old glass is removed and a deeper rebate is routed in the timber which allows for the thicker, double glazed unit to be fitted. The glass is then fixed in place by a primed Cedar timber bead, ready for your painter to finish in your exterior paint colour.

Timber Retrofit

 Before

After

Retrofitting Aluminium windows and doors involves removing your inefficient single glass and changing out some profiles in your aluminium joinery to allow for a high performing, genuine double glazing to be retrofitted.

Once installed, the changes are almost unnoticeable, giving you a solution that looks the same, but provides a warmer and drier home year round.

Service Area

"Well done and many thanks to Hunter Glass! What a great job! Grant installed a glass splashback in my kitchen - behind the hob and across the bottom of two windows.

The job had many quirks, an old house with nothing level and the windows below the level of the work bench to mention a couple. The job was approached with ingenuity, professionalism and, luckily, a sense of humour! Thank you again"
